Faculty Research Grants are considered “seed money” for research, in that they should lead to the growth and development of continuing research or creative programs, in particular those that lead to external awards, grants, fellowships and other forms of significant recognition, including books, performances and installations.

Complex Cloth is an ongoing research and public humanities project of Jane McPherson, associate professor in the School of Social Work. At the opening reception for the Complex Cloth installation at the School of Social Work, attendees heard stories of the Athens Factory, and social work and labor in Athens, as told by McPherson, Complex Cloth Fellows, and other community members. Major funding for the project comes from the Carl and Sally Gable Foundation, and additional support from the Willson Center, the Institute for Women's and Gender Studies, the School of Social Work, and many others.
